The Perth Win...and Kumble.... ...The word historic has been "brandied" a thousand times, but i have absolutely no qualms in calling this victory exactly that, for its just HISTORIC! ...after the sydney happenings, some of the people, if they were the captain, would have cracked. Kumble stood firm, with steely nerves and rock solid bone. For him, to lift the team from the dumps was a lot more easier than others who would have cracked. His quote after the sydney test 'There was only one team playing in the true spirit of the game' was a great line. He said many things in that one line. When someone of the stature of Kumble says such, everybody sits up and notice. Its not often that Kumble speaks everyday. So when he said it, it needs to be noticed. Even the aussie media and people felt though their team may be unassailable, they play their game in the most aggressive and nastiest way which was beyond their 'developed culture'.
